UNBOXING: Star Wars The Black Series Centerpiece Luke Skywalker

At Last, Our first Toy Review this 2019!

Let's star off with this Star Wars The Black Series Centerpiece Luke Skywalker.

It's our first time to own this kind of toy. A little bit mature for our taste.
This toy was a gift from Paul's Mom when they went to Singapore.
It was apparently on sale at that time - $29 (Singaporean Dollars).
It was also on sale at Manila but way more cheaper at SG.

This cool toy is a collectible for the big boys, for people who love
diorama. You could add some Snowtropper (sold separately) on the extra snow
piece on the bottom of the platform where Luke stands.

Overall, this toy is a bang for the buck. It's hard to pass down on it.

12 Days of Christmas (DAY 1): Harry Potter and Dobby VYNL

It's our first ever 12 Days of Christmas Video / Blog Content
so, please bear with us.

We will be attempting to upload Video and Blog for that matter for 12 Days straight!

We know that this might be a good idea to boost our "algorithm" in the YouTube Content Creator World but also a bag idea that we might be rushed into getting some content done.
But fear not! Me and Paul have slightly planned this ahead (or did we?)
We might be delayed in some days, Hope not but I expect that kind of boo-boo
in this kind of work. But on the other-hand, Me and Paul worked for a TV Network before,
and we produce 3 to 4 video graphics, as for him artworks or layout per day.
So, this should be easy.

Going back to the "Toy Review"

Finally, a perfect Harry Potter figure! Funko, you did well.
This is the Harry that I would love to see.
The signature lighting scar is now present. and the hair... THE HAIR is now accurate.

If you watched the video above, We love this figures so much that we gave it both
an epic 5 out of 5 ratings.

Hope to see more of this kind of quality toy from Funko
and I will happily shut up and take my hard earn money!!!

UNBOXING: KAWS x Sesame Street x Uniqlo (Cookie Monster and Elmo Plushies)

We finally get our hands on a KAWS product!

Last time Uniqlo did a collab with KAWS, it was last year 2017 - Peanuts Collab.
They made shirts and 2 variant size of Snoopy Plushie,
not to mention they also did 2 colors ~ Black and White.
Sadly, we didn't had the chance to score those last year.
We didn't had a lot of spare money last year to start the toy collection,
luckily the wheels have turned...
We're now able to save money in advance in order to cop these this year.

These bad boys cost Php 1,490 which is roughly $29 in US,
but the difference here in Manila and the US is that I saw online,
these were selling in $39.90 in retail at US which is Php 2,000.
I think these are sold cheaper here in Asia rather than the US maybe because of the
shipping and manufacturing? It's made in China which is closer to us.

I note that we have on these plushies are the sizing.
Elmo happens to be the most well proportioned plushie on the whole gang.
By the way, these collection comes in 5 characters which is Big Bird,
Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster and Elmo.
Cookie Monster happens to be the smallest of the bunch and
he has a weird hand position and his mouth won't open that much.

Was it Worth It?

Overall, These plushies are not cheap. If you think this is a stuff toy
you can just give to your kid. Well, think again.
These plushies as I mentioned on the video are a piece of artwork from KAWS.
His regular vinyl toys sells for $300 in retail (that's Php 15,000).
This would probably be the cheapest KAWS artwork we could ever afford.
Just like the Murakami x Doraemon Plushie, this is a collectible for the
art lover and also for the resellers.
I'll admit these toys might be an investment in the future.
Murakami and KAWS are gaining a lot of popularity in the mainstream media
that means their works might cost more in the coming years.
I do love that Uniqlo gives us a chance to own an artwork from
these Artist. For all we know, they could be the next Andy Warhol of our generation.

UNBOXING: VYNL Star Wars Rey & Kylo Ren

Here's our second unboxing video from our September Toy Haul.

If you've been reading our previous blog, you'll know by now that Carrot collects Star Wars Toys but mostly Darth Vader and Stormtropper. But now his trying to collect some Star Wars major character including - Rey and Kylo Ren.

As I mention on the previous blog, We really loved the VYNL toy line of Funko.
Being said that, it's no brainer that we fell in love with their version of Rey and Kylo Ren.
My only comment is Rey doesn't seem to capture the essence of the "real-life" Rey.
Her hair color is a lighter and she doesn't seem to sport her signature ponytail.
Kylo on the other hand is perfect!
He really does look like him, even if you sold him separately you can easily say that
"Yeah! That's Kylo Ren".

Other than that, we love this toy series. I do hope for a Finn and Rey duo from Force Awakens and Paul wanted a Finn and Captain Plasma duo.

How about you? What Star Wars duo would you like Funko to produce?

UNBOXING: Chewbacca with AT-ST and EXCLUSIVE Young Anakin Skywalker 2018

TOY REVIEW

This is a double unboxing video plus Me and Carrot got to speak and tell our personal insight on our latest toy haul. On this haul my personal favorite is Chewy riding the AT-ST, if I may say so this might be the first Star Wars character in Funko POP! form to ride a land machine. Usually, characters ride a jet on the deluxe offer, so when Me and Carrot got this, I felt it was a steal, especially for it's price. And it's pretty big for the usually deluxe Funko POP!. But the real huge score was getting Young Anakin Skywalker. Getting exclusives here in the Philippines is pretty hard because of limitation on shops where to get one, good thing we got one on a very reasonable price.

UNBOXING: COSBABY DARTH VADER Glow in the Dark Version + BONUS CLIP of Chrome Version

Hi Everyone! Here's the unboxing video of our new COSBABY BOBBLE-HEAD COLLECTIBLE Darth Vader in Glow in the Dark Version

+++ PLUS +++

Bonus clip of our Chrome Version.

TOY REVIEW

We've been eyeing these toys ever since it was displayed on the windows of Filbar's Shop. Hot Toys Cosbaby Darth Vader Line is really a head turner. But unlike Funko POP!, Cosbaby are much more expensive. In fact, it's twice it's price. An averange Funko POP! here in the Philippines would cost Php 595 that's $11.14 in US Dollar and an Cosbaby cost Php 1,100 that's $20.59 in US Dollar, that's why we don't buy a lot of toys before because collecting POP! and especially Cosbaby cost a lot. So, Me and Carrot are pretty much strategic in buying toys. He collects Star Wars (Darth Vader specifically) and Me - Hello Kitty and Tokidoki. An occasional Super Mario Bros. and The Simpsons a rise from the collection ever now and then, but you get the whole picture. When we have extra money on the budget we splurge on these toys. I love the whole details of the Cosbaby toys rather than Funko POP!, I just feel that the whole line is much more "worth" the money. I'm gonna stop comparing, maybe that's another article I'm gonna write soon. But what I'm trying to say, is that this Cosbaby Toy is 100% worth it and If you want to have one of these babies, do get one.

UNBOXING: NEW NINTENDO 2DS XL White and Pokeball Edition

Review:

Me and Carrot have been playing with our "new" 2ds xl for 6 months now. And I must say this kept us really entertained even it's 2018. Despite the rage about the nintendo switch, owning a 2ds xl is still relevant. It has a large library of awesome games, you'll never ran out of options. Me and Carrot love to play via download play. I think owning a 2ds xl with a companion to play with is the best way to own it. Plus it's a really cheap way of owning a console this year, the white and black 2ds xl only cost Php 10,000 = $190 plus it comes with 3 games (at least that's what shop here in the Philippines offer). The pokeball on the other hand same cost but only comes with a single game. So if you just want an on-the-go game console without braking the piggy bank, go with the new 2ds xl. - Pancake.

UNBOXING: LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader LED LITE

Here's a video of our latest toy haul - LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader LED LITE. It's currently price at Php 1,399.75 that's $26.59 (US Dollar). This is one of our first video shoot (but just recently edited), we forgot to use the tripod. Sorry for being too shaky. :-) If you LIKE this video please be sure to give it a THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBE for more STAR WARS and other toy haul videos.

Toy Review:

We were so thrilled to bag this toy. Me and Carrot always wanted this giant lego LED Light of Darth Vader because a few years ago, we've managed to bought a stormtropper at True Value for half a price (at that time there was also a Yoda on sale but we only bought the stormtropper). and since then we hunted for the Darth Vader for years, good thing we came across a LEGO shop that has this on stock. We also wanted the one with the lightsaber but this also awesome. This toy is 20cm (H) x 10cm (W) and needs 3 x AA Batteries to light up. The build is sturdy and feels like a LEGO only giant one. This toy is really worth it especially when your a star wars collector. - Pancake.

UNBOXING: Murakami x Doraemon Plushie (2018)

Toy Review:

We finally have a Murakami!!! Super ecstatic to own this plushie. Ever since I've saw a post at Murakami's IG account of the Uniqlo x Doraemon collab, I was so eager to have one. My only worry was would it be release here in the Philippines.  But when Uniqlo PH announced its release on May 25, 2018. I was determined - We have to have ONE!

Back to the review, This plushie is a bit hard - Hard enough to sit on his own bum. It's ok, I think this it was made to be on that position anyway. The art on Doraemon is so Murakami - if you are familiar with his art, you could see the signature sunflower smiley faces on the pattern. This would probably be the most affordable Takashi Murakami artwork we would ever have. His plushies are sold for $52 to $1,000. This plushie on the other hand only cost roughly around $29. So, if you happen to see one - don't hesitate to buy one. - Pancake.

UNBOXING: Mighty Muggs Star Wars Stormtropper [Wave 3 (2018)]

UNBOXING: Mighty Muggs Star Wars Stormtropper [Wave 3 (2018)]

Toy Review:

Mighty Muggs comeback is pretty solid with this line. This toy is literally a head turner! Since the first wave of Star Wars toy came out, Me and Carrot always wondered if they would come out with a Stormtropper version and Hasbro didn't failed us. I do love this designs, I think it captured the likeness of the troppers and gave them an "emotion". We are definitely looking forward to more Star Wars collab with Mighty Muggs, I think this line would give Funko a run for their money.
